Meet the Provider
Jade A. Potter, WHNP-BC, IBCLC, PMH-C
Jade is the owner of Milk+Honey Specialists in Infant Feeding and KnoxGYN. She has experience as a bedside nurse in a regional high risk referral center for Women and Infants, a Level 1 NICU, and has worked as an IBCLC both in hospitals and in the community.
She pursued and advanced practice nursing degree after encountering too many of her patients who had very obvious needs that were not being met after the birth of their children. Even when their primary care providers or OB/GYNs would finally listen, their limited knowledge of lactation put these patients at a disadvantage and they remained unable to meet their goals.
Lactation Medicine is a highly specialized and poorly researched field. Jade is hoping to break new ground by providing this unique support to families and sharing her findings with professional communities along the way.
How does it work?
Step 1
Working with your client, you determine a need for medical evaluation of lactation concerns… Then, you submit a referral form by clicking the button below:
Step 2
We contact your client to schedule a brief telehealth visit to review their history and symptoms. If indicated, we will order labs that they can have drawn at their local Quest Patient Service Center… You can help them find one HERE.
Step 3
After receiving their results, we will schedule a follow-up telehealth visit with your client to review the treatment options. If needed, we will prescribe medication and/or give recommendations based on their individual situation. We will also send you copies of their visit notes and labs.
Pricing Details
-
The initial assessment fee for the client is $100. This includes reviewing their labs, their follow-up, and prescribing meds if needed.
-
Their labs can be billed to their insurance company directly through Quest. It is important to have them call their insurance company to determine their policy’s coverage of diagnostic testing. If the client would rather self-pay for labs, we can order them for a discounted rate through Rupa Health.
-
Prescribed medications can be billed to insurance through the patient’s preferred pharmacy. Again, the patient may need to call their insurance to make sure what medications are covered. If insurance will not cover their medication or they are uninsured, they can try getting discounted medication prices through GoodRx.
-
Depending on the client’s diagnosis, they may need ongoing monitoring (for instance, insulin resistance, hypothyroidism, anemia, etc.). Follow-up telehealth visits will be $65 each until KnoxGYN is able to obtain in-network status with insurance companies.
